Uniten’s SRC Committe

January 2nd, 2009

2nd, 3rd, and 4th January… what a great days! I’m joining a program running by Uniten’s SRC Committe which one of the objectives is to help us; especially new members to know each other so that, it is easy for us to work together in the future. Actually, I’m not the one who loves joining programs such like this. To be honest, I’m quite bored with it. Maybe because of the some little tiny stuffs which they still put inside the program; it makes me feel like that.

Actually, I not prefer it to be in 3 days. For me, maybe 1 or 2 days is more than enough. I’m the one who like something to be short and compact. I don’t know… maybe I ever been trained like that before. However, for some cases; I think I should much more linear to small reasons. Overall, although I’m not in  a good mood; I’m still happy with the program. The bro..s and sis…s are putting their effort to make it fun. I really appreciate that!

I’m now one of SRC’s members and will work under…? I always forgot the name of the Secreteriat I joined but it’s something about the information and publicity. My job is to ensure  students of Uniten receive any information which are about the university, or clubs & societies, or some other things. I don’t know how to explain the specific job I’ll do because sometimes, I am the reporter and sometimes I also will become a webmaster. Both are actually in the same field. I don’t like to become a reporter although it is a must for me… I prefer to handle site.

When I was in Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM), SRC or MPP was an issue which was in a great debate because we were using Rank Holders which almost doing the same job in the years of Akademi Tentera Malaysia. Since the academy was transformed to a university, the issue often been chatting not even by the students, also by the staffs. However, we were not taking the issue too serious until a ‘between life or die’ decision need to be come out. It was just to make sure in any reason, we are still among the universities. That’s all!

How To Learn Programming

December 31st, 2008

I guess, most of us really want to become an expert in programming or maybe it’s enough for someone to just know on how actually to program a system. To let you know, programming is not really hard as what you watched in Die Hard 4 movie. It is all about ideas and how you use your creativity to use and combine those ideas to build a system.

When I was kids, I ever hoped to learn to program a system after I watched a movie about hacking. An untold secret is, those movies just want to make them look ‘WOW!’ by showing the audience those 0 and 1 numbers. The real thing is, 99% programmers around the world never used the numbers to buid a system.

There are several programming languages in the world can be used. After you write your system by using any of the languages, it will automatically convert the codes into the binary form which are those 0 and 1 numbers. For example; C/C++, Visual Basic 6, Visual Basic.NET, Java, Python and etc.

It is not required to learn all of them. By learning and try to be an expert in one of the languages is more than enough. However, sometime like me, I love to learn new programming language. It is not hard to learn programming. I have several tips for newbies who really want to start learning programming.

1. Get to know basic before you learn any languages. As what have I said just now, programming is actually ideas. Before you learn the language, you are recommended to know the ideas made in programming. You may need to understand; what is variable, loop, array, IO and a few more ideas. Once you know the ideas, you can start learning the language which will generate those ideas.
2. It is not enough only by learning from books. There is only one keyword to learn programming; “PRACTICE”. Do you ever heard, ” practice make perfect?” To learn programming, you need practice. Come out with a few problems and try to solve each of them patiently.
3. How about if you stuck? I love this… once you stuck at any part, search for source codes which are similar to the one you are building. Then, think… think… and think… on how to manipulate those codes to solve your problem.

Usually, after I get theory inputs from books, I often download source codes from any sites to improve my understanding on the language. This really help me a lot not even to make my learning become faster, also i will also have more ideas to solve any kind of problems in the future.

However, jot down this! You should never memorize the whole codes of a system. I have a friend who used to memorize codes and at the end, he got nothing. As a programmer, we should only memorize codes to do the ideas we learned. By memorizing the codes, we will easy to manipulate those codes to build any system we want. In other word, we will make it flexible. If you memorize the whole codes of a system, how about if someone ask you to build a program which is similar like Microsoft Word? Are you going to search for the same codes and memorize the whole codes? Work smart…

My Personal Blog

December 29th, 2008

Hey guys; this is my personal blog. I’m not a real blogger which means I don’t have the heart of real bloggers to update my blog daily. Maybe, it’ll be weekly or maybe monthly. I don’t have much time to seat on my wooden chair like a geek, stare at the monitor for hours; just to make sure my blog is always updated with new info. I’ve plenty more works to do, and this is just to fill my tiny extra time.

First bad impression, huh? Although that is actually who I am and what will be, I still want to say that; I’ll make sure there is a value for this blog. Com’on… I pay almost $25 anually just to have this site. I will maximise the used of it. Anywhere… in general this blog is all about my interest which mostly will be in technology matter.
